Um we actually experienced a situation like this yesterday, well, a couple of hours ago to be more exact. My uncle (whom I resided with) had fallen sick about a month ago and landed in the hospital for 2 weeks because he had a lot of things wrong with him including low oxygen levels, some infections, and a stroke that left his left side of his body weak. He got better enough to go a rehab facility and he was there for about 8 days (until yesterday). My aunt, cousin and I had just come home from picking my aunt up from visiting him. She left at 7:28 pm. A half an hour before visiting hours were over. The nurse called my aunt and said that she had gone to check up on him at 8:40 pm and he was not breathing. They did chest compressions to get his heart going and they were unsuccessful so they sent him to the hospital. As soon as we got the call we went straight there to the emergency room. They told us to go inside and wait in this small room and the doctor would be coming along to explain what happened. As soon as we went in I knew it wasn’t good, but I didn’t say anything. They don’t tell you to go into a small waiting room in the emergency unless it’s something bad. The doctor had come and told us everything that had happened and they just dropped the bomb on us that there was nothing they could do to restart his heart. My heart sank for my aunt, my cousin trying to hold it together as best as she could for her mom, and I was just I guess dumbfounded. We called family members and they were just as stunned as we were. He was supposed to come home. He’s been in bad shape before but he always came back. I don’t know how to feel right now. I always thought the would live to a good ripe old age and he’s gone. He was like a father to me.

I know that death is a reality but they shouldn't put it in a show like this. People watch these shows to escape reality a little not to be reminded of it.

We all seen this coming and it's still a gut punch. I was 18 when my dad died. I was lucky enough to tell him I love him and he said it back. 10 minutes later, he was gone. Love you Dad.

Holy crap i have never fallen back in my chair harder than when i watched this a few days ago, those 30 minutes of silence i sat through with my roomates just....well it was quite expected but very unexpected if i may say ..

I think what gets people is how real it is. There's no death scene, no goodbye in the hospital while he's on his deathbed, George just walks out one normal day and doesn't come back, the same way I'm sure plenty of people have lost their parents.

Absolutely cried while saying to myself "he was still alive yesterday because they haven't aired the episode yet. But now he isn't coming back, forever... forever.."

The last time I ever saw my dad, was on Wednesday July 18th, 2018. He died of a heart attack the next day. And the worst part is? I never got to say goodbye.

The last scene is by far one of the most unrealistic death anouncements in tv I mean even as an audience who expects george's passing, you first get shocked and go through a moment of disbelief THEN you start sobbing I mean they act as if george has been in a coma and they were expecting it any minute. Idk what it is about american shows and death, they just skip or fast forward some steps of grief and they move on so fast and in this case they believe it too soon like I can't watch the scene not because it's sad because it being unrealistic kills the vibe... I think this one is the only time that sheldon who is the odd one has the most realistic reaction. And also to add to that, this is not how you inform a family about one of members death especially when it's out of blue like this, you come and sit and walk them through it maybe you mention hospital or somethig. I'm disapointed by this scene. I expected something more emotional and slower and more real
